Tip 5, Slow & Steady: How To Succeed At Big 4 Dieting (Paleo, Keto, AIP, SCD)
Many of us have heard of the story of the tortoise and the hare; this classic story can illustrate several points but in this scenario our tortoise and hare are interested in pursuing the one of the Big 4 diets (AIP (Paleo Autoimmune Protocol), Paleo, SCD (Specific Carbohydrate Diet) and Keto diet). This story is about a race that demonstrates that we don’t have to be the fastest to win in the end. However, for our purposes we are going to remove the “race” element because choosing a healthier lifestyle is just that a lifestyle! Not a race!
Now depending on what we’d like to achieve may determine the speed at which we’d like to move. Pursuing a diet purely just to lose weight really isn’t the best approach because we should all seek to improve our health in perpetuity. Jumping on the paleo diet wagon just to get ready for the summer only to revert back to old habits process needs to be discontinued.
For optimal health we need to determine our goals and pursue them at the speed that best suits us. Granted if we have a tough autoimmune disease we may be more inclined to dive head first into the AIP or SCD diet and continue with full speed to see results quickly. However, if we are generally trying to improve our health there isn’t anything wrong with taking the tortoise approach with perhaps the Keto or Paleo diet. Our Paleo Perfection grass-fed beef protein powder complies with any of these diets and can help start and sustain throughout.
We have a higher likelihood of being successful by making our new healthy habits permanent with lasting efforts than yo-yoing over and over again only to confuse our bodies. Developing a slow and steady effort with the AIP, Paleo, SCD, or Keto diets will ensure a much more lasting effect on our health as a whole.
We will experience frustration from time to time which is natural because we have been conditioned to receiving things when we want them. However, we must have a slow burn and make it through. It is worth it to stick to it mentally and physically. Life will be better as we improve our health and increase our capacity to do those things we’d like. The AIP and SCD can work wonders for those suffering from autoimmune diseases and the Paleo and Keto diet can help boost our overall health.
When we are willing to give our diet some time to take effect in our lives we will be empowered to do much more in several other areas of our lives!
