Paleo Diet/AIP Diet Acceptable Food # 10 and 11 : HIGH-QUALITY MEATS and SEA VEGETABLES

Our bodies and our diets are similar to cars. Some cars will take any octane of gasoline but their performance leaves something to be desired. Those who follow the AIP and Paleo Diets need the best octane either as a necessity or by choice. High quality meats play a big part in our health and performance. In fact, our company prides themselves on bringing you the very best AIP and Paleo Protein powder. We use a grass-fed beef with high protein and great taste.

High Quality Meats

Why is it important to eat high quality meat? I’m glad you asked. Many of the “conventional” meats have been spiked with antibiotics and hormones. Cows are fed grains rather than their native food grass. This treatment doesn’t equate to happy cows or good intestinal health. In turn, not only is it a little said, but the fats and protein content on the consumption side is degraded. Lower protein levels, lower good fat contents, and lower vitamin intake.

Sure many of these meats and other AIP and paleo proteins cost more but grass-fed beef is leaner, lower water content, fewer omega-6 fatty acids and more omega-3s. The omega balance is key…you will get 1:3 ratio of omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids in grass-fed beef versus 1:20 in conventional beef. The cost is made up in that ratio alone. These findings are similar when speaking of wild caught meats.

Sea Vegetables

Your mother may have told you to eat your vegetables but who said anything about “sea vegetables”? It’s true algae, chlorella, and spirulina are also great for you and particularly for the immune system. These may prove difficult to grow on your own but they have impressive nutrition.

Take seaweed, there are several varieties but it is packed with calcium, chromium, copper, iodine, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin K, and zinc! That is a mouthful and a pretty delicious one!

Seaweed also holds its own with omega-3 fatty acids…regular plant food don’t have much of this and for the most part it is nonexistent. In particular it contains DHA which is great for your eyes and is helpful to expectant mothers.

We could go on and on with these benefits but the proof is in the pudding, AIP and paleo compliant pudding of course! Give our AIP and paleo protein powder a try! It has grass-fed beef and an organic superfood blend!
